You can use Sherlock’s Memory Palace to turn text into images and build memory palaces. You buy “credits” to generate images and use AI help. Credits roll over and don’t expire. Don’t use the app to create anything illegal or harmful. We can change prices, credit values, and features. We delete your palaces and images shortly after you delete them. Please read the full terms below.

Overview
This website and app at memorypalace.ai (the “Service”) is operated by Memory Palace LTD (“Sherlock’s Memory Palace”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account, buying credits, or using any part of the Service, you (“you”, “your”) agree to these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and any other policies we link to. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms at any time by posting the new version on this page. Your continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the change. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or over. The Service is not intended for, and may not be used by, anyone under 18.
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login details secure. You agree to give accurate, current information and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think your account has been used without your permission.
We may refuse, suspend, or close any account at our reasonable discretion, including for a breach of these Terms.
Communications. By creating an account you agree to receive service emails we need to send to run your account and the Service — for example sign-up confirmation, password changes, credit purchases and receipts, plan changes, low or zero balance alerts, and account notices. These are part of the Service and you cannot opt out of them while your account is open. We will only send you marketing emails if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe from those at any time. 2. The Service
Sherlock’s Memory Palace lets you paste in text, turn it into images using AI, and arrange those images into “memory palaces” to help you remember things.
The Service relies on third-party AI providers to generate images and text suggestions (see Section 5). AI outputs can be unexpected, inaccurate, or not what you asked for. The Service is a study and memory aid; it is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, academic, or other expert advice.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
3. Credits, plans and billing
Credits. Actions in the app are paid for with credits. Generating an AI image and using AI text help each cost a set number of credits, shown in the app and on our pricing page (currently 5 credits per AI image and 1 credit per AI text-help request). We may change the credit cost of any action; the current cost will always be shown before you confirm an action where reasonably possible.
Free credits. New accounts receive a one-time allowance of free credits. Free credits are for trying the Service and are not transferable or refundable.
Paid plans. Paid subscription plans give you a set number of credits each billing period, for the price shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically each period until you cancel.
Top-ups. You can also buy one-off credit packs in addition to any plan.
Roll-over. Credits are added to your balance and do not expire while your account is open and in good standing. Unused credits from a subscription period roll over to the next period. Credits have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts.
Payments. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. By paying, you agree to Stripe’s terms as well as ours, and you confirm you are authorised to use the payment method.
Changes to prices and credit values. Prices, plans, and the number of credits each action costs are subject to change at any time. We may change the value, cost, or allocation of credits. Changes will not affect a billing period you have already paid for, but will apply from your next renewal or purchase. If we make a change you do not accept, your option is to cancel before your next renewal.
4. Refunds and cancellation
You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access and any remaining credits until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Because credits and AI generations are digital and delivered immediately, once you have used credits or started a subscription period, that purchase is generally non-refundable, except where you have a right to a refund under applicable law (for example, if the Service was faulty or not as described). At checkout you agree to immediate supply of digital content and acknowledge that this ends any statutory cancellation (“cooling-off”) right once supply begins.
How to request a refund. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, or would like to request one:

Email us at info@memorypalace.ai from the email address on your account, within 14 days of the charge you are asking about. (This 14-day window applies to discretionary requests only and does not affect any longer right you may have under the law.)

Include your account email, the date and amount of the charge, and a brief reason for your request.
3.
We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and aim to reach a decision within 14 days.
4.
If we approve a refund, we will return it to your original payment method through Stripe, normally within 5–10 business days. How long it then takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider.

If we decline, we will explain why. This does not affect your statutory rights or your ability to raise the matter elsewhere (for example, with your card provider).
What we can usually refund: duplicate or accidental charges, a charge taken after you cancelled, or cases where the Service was faulty or not as described.
What we usually cannot refund: credits you have already used and generations already produced, because these are delivered immediately — except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
5. AI-generated content and acceptable use of generation
You are responsible for the text you enter (“Inputs”) and the images and text you generate (“Outputs”).
You must not use the Service to create, upload, store, or share content that:
•
is illegal, or promotes or helps illegal activity;
•
sexually exploits or endangers children in any way, or depicts minors in a sexual or suggestive manner (we report suspected child sexual abuse material to the relevant authorities);
•
is sexual or pornographic, or sexualises real people;
•
depicts a real, identifiable person without their consent, including intimate, nude, or deceptive (“deepfake”) images;
•
is hateful, harassing, threatening, or incites violence or self-harm;
•
infringes anyone’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights, including copying a living artist’s work or using brands, logos, or characters you do not have rights to;
•
is deliberately false or misleading in a way that could cause harm, or misrepresents AI Output as something it is not;
•
contains malware, or is used to spam, scrape, or attack our or others’ systems; or
•
tries to bypass our or our providers’ safety filters.
Image and text generation runs on third-party AI providers. When you generate content you also agree to the current provider’s rules, which form part of these Terms by reference. We currently use Google’s Gemini API. Your generation activity is therefore also subject to:

If we change AI provider, the prohibited-use rules of the new provider will apply, and we will update this section. Where the provider’s rules are stricter than ours, the stricter rules apply.
Ownership of Outputs. As between you and us, you may use the Outputs you create for your personal learning and study. We make no promise that AI-generated images can be protected by copyright — under current law in several countries, purely AI-generated content may not qualify for copyright protection. You are responsible for checking that your use of any Output is lawful in your situation.
Enforcement, preservation, and reporting. We may block, remove, or refuse to generate content, and may suspend, restrict, or close accounts, where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken. Where we reasonably believe the Service has been used to create or store illegal content or content that breaches these Terms, we may preserve the relevant data (including content, prompts, timestamps, and IP addresses) and report the matter to the police or other authorities. We may take these steps even if you have asked to delete your content or close your account: deleting content or closing your account does not remove our right or obligation to retain records where the law allows or requires it, including to investigate suspected illegal activity or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. Where the law permits, we may take these steps without notifying you.
6. Your content and data
You keep ownership of the Inputs and palaces you create. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, display, and transmit your content as needed to run the Service for you (for example, sending your prompt to the AI provider, storing your images, and showing them back to you) and, where you choose to share or publish a palace, to display it to the other people or the public you share it with.
How we collect and use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Sharing your content. Some features let you share a palace or its images with other users or publish them so anyone can see them. If you do this, you are responsible for what you share, you confirm you have the right to share it, and you accept that other people will be able to see, and may copy or save, what you make visible to them. Only share content that follows these Terms (see Section 5), and only share content you are comfortable making visible to others. We may remove shared content, and limit or withdraw sharing features, at our reasonable discretion — in particular where content is illegal or breaches these Terms.
Reporting illegal or harmful content. If you see shared content that you believe is illegal or breaches these Terms, please report it to us at info@memorypalace.ai. We will review reports and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content, suspending the account responsible, preserving evidence, and reporting the matter to the police or other authorities. We aim to acknowledge reports promptly and to act quickly where content appears illegal.
Deletion. When you delete a palace or image from your dashboard, we permanently delete the underlying image and palace data from our storage within 48 hours (see the Privacy Policy for detail). Copies may remain in routine backups for a short, limited period before they are overwritten. If you have shared content, others may already have copied or saved it, and we cannot recover or delete copies held by other people.
You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you want to keep. We are not a backup service.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service itself — including the software, design, brand, name, logo, templates, and content we provide — belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or exploit any part of the Service except as these Terms allow or the law permits. The headings in these Terms are for convenience only.
8. General prohibited uses
In addition to Section 5, you must not use the Service:

for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose, or to break any law that applies to you;
•
to infringe our or anyone else’s intellectual property rights;
•
to harass, abuse, or harm others, or to discriminate against anyone;
•
to submit false or misleading information, or impersonate anyone;
•
to upload viruses or malicious code, or to interfere with or circumvent the security of the Service;
•
to collect or track others’ personal information; or
•
to spam, phish, scrape, or crawl the Service.
We may suspend or end your access for any breach.
9. Third-party services and links
The Service depends on third parties (for example, payment, hosting, email, storage, authentication, and AI providers). We are not responsible for those third parties’ own services, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
The Service may link to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Any dealings with a third party are between you and them.
10. Accuracy of information
We try to keep information on the Service accurate and current, but we do not guarantee it is complete, accurate, or up to date. The Service is provided for general use and should not be your sole basis for any important decision. Any reliance on the material is at your own risk.
11. Changes to the Service and prices
Prices for our plans and credits can change without notice. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will not be liable to you or anyone else for any change, price change, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service, except as required by law.
12. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that AI Outputs will be accurate, suitable, or reliable. Except as expressly stated by us, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your non-excludable rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we (and our directors, employees, suppliers, and service providers) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost savings, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Memory Palace LTD and its officers, employees, suppliers, and service providers from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms, your content, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Termination
These Terms apply while you use the Service. You can stop using it and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably need to. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
15. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest of the Terms will stay in force.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you and we agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. Nothing here removes any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. Material changes will be notified where reasonably possible. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
